It's so flexible, has a great support community and it's powerful and extensible ---- lots of great plugins out there... especially, effective anti-spam fighting plugins like: Akismet (which comes with WordPress 2.1) Bad Behavior (a must install) ... and one of those captca image plugins --- I like Peter's Antispam Plugin...
