The Festive Series: Getting an early start for the Holiday Season
The Festive Series
Respond?

Here’s a new blogging series i’ll be writing up until December 25th! You think that it’s still a bit too early for planning out your festive season? Think again! Here are a bunch of stuff that YOU SHOULD DO before the month of December creeps up on us!
Decide on your outfits - The biggest headache for the holiday season is most definately “omg! What am i going to wear?!”, now’s the right time to see what’s going to be in fashion (even if you don’t give a damn & want to be unique or you’re anti-fashion, i suggest you look around & WHAT TO AVOID then!). Get yourself a Polyvore account and get creating the perfect look for yourself! Trust me, you’ll love yourself for planning out what to buy beforehand for the numerous occasions in December! Last year i had over 15 social events so it was the BIGGEST headache to think up all the outfits beforehand (especially if in most of them you’ll be meeting the same people OUCH!)
Buy your outfits - It’s a MUST if you’re buying your clothes online (shipping gets SUPER SLOW at these times of year) but i also find it very very useful for buying clothes from shops! The closer we move to December 25th, the less stock the shops have (not to mention, the more expensive & LACK OF SIZES!). Besides, buying clothes from shops right now guarantees you won’t end up seeing someone else wearing your same clothes!
Book your hair appoinments, facials & what not - If you want to grab hold of the best appointment times which are most comfortable for you, you should really get a move on!
Book the places where you’ll be partying - Book the restaurant where you want to dine on christmas eve, or hold the office celebration or hotel to stay at overnight right now! You won’t beleive how blinding fast these places get fully booked! Don’t let this spoil all your plans!
Start a mini diet - The holiday season is also known as the season which usually piles up pounds on our bodies. If you still want to enjoy all the sweets and savouries at the various family gatherings, buffets and restaurant celebrations then it’s best to start taking care of your intake right now so as to prevent from waking up on January 2nd feeling bloated, sick, puffed up & whale-ish!! (Beleive me, it happened last year from attending WAY TOO MANY social events and it’s what started me to change my WHOLE diet afterwards!)
Start doing physical activity - This goes hand in hand with the previous point ![]()
Start making a list of card receivers - & start collecting the addresses! Most of the time people pop up on the list unexpectedly & you don’t want to risk of leaving anyone out! I like to take my time writing cards and personalize each one i send out
So i take a hell of a long time!
Write & send out the cards & gifts for friends abroad - At this time of year, the post gets incredibly slow, so if you want your gifts and cards to arrive on time by xmas even abroad, it’s best to send them by the second week of november!
Start thinking gradually about the gifts, make a list - You’ll thank yourself for this. It will releive you a major hassle in the last few days of preparations.
Book your vacation leave at work - Most workplaces operate on the first come first serve procedure, so make sure you won’t spoil any parties or miss out on anything important because you have to replace your workmate!!

Personally I love Christmas and the lead-up to it, but yeah, it can also be really stressful, especially the whole ‘What the heck am I going to wear!?” part!
