The mother of all Lipbalms!

Reviews 4:48 pm 441 Words  Respond?

Are you addicted to Lipbalms? I know i am! i’ve been searching for the perfect lip balm for ages. Here are some of the brands i make use of:

  • The Bodyshop Lipbalm (with SPF15, great for the Summer! But disappoingly scentless.)
  • The Bodyshop scented lipbalms (which you apply with your fingers - i have Strawberry, Peach & Mango, Plum & Cranberry … but that also means you can’t apply them as fast as using a normal tube)
  • Lush LipService (really nice, but it doesn’t have any smell and it’s a bit tricky to apply, you have to warm it with your fingers first for best results!)
  • Nivea Lip repair (It’s the one with the green lable, only used for really cold weather when my lips are pretty much chapped to death!)

But in my opinion … the best ever lipbalms that i started using (& have been using for now a year!) and the one i really recommend buying are the Skittles Lipsmackers <3 They smell & taste amazing & perfect for the magical kissing moment!

They’re not expensive and i really recommend buying a pack instead of on their own. Most of the time special packs contain a variety of the skittles lipsmackers (in mine i have the normal variety and the tropical one). If you’re buying online of course, a pack will save you on shipping as they’re very lightweight

The lipbalm goes on sheer & the smell lasts for the longest time. Most important of all, they instantly soften the lips and they’re not sticky at all (it guarantees you won’t get nasty looks from your partner i promise!) - just make sure you pick up the flavour they like (no banana or lime flavour for me please! … I actually gave one to my little cousin & one to my friend whose a certified lime addict!!)

If you don’t need all of them, you can always use them as stocking fillers! Your girly friends will love them for sure

What’s flavour / scent is your Libalm addiction?

I have some questions. For the skittles lip smackers, wouldn’t the blue or purple or green stick some specks of coloured pieces of your chapped lips? I agree on the flavour, they smell like like the skittles!
I use Vaseline Lip Therapy, the pro is that it keeps my lips soft and moist. The con is it can look too shiny, and sometimes of I lick my lips or bite them or after eating, a film of white line residue appears on the inner part of my lip. I hope I make sense

Sounds pretty cool. but sadly call me old, but i normally stick to all the boring ones. Flavored ones like the skittles don’t really do it for me. I have a fruit roll ups one. Smells great but hard to get use to.
chap-et or chapstick are my favorites. Burt’s Bees are super too.
I have to say that my favorite brand/flavor is Burt’s Bees honey flavor.

Lip balms rock… I’ve always liked them better than lipstick… no color marks when kissing the boy.

Softlips and Blistex (the lip infusion… the reaally soft stuff) are what I usually use. I’m guilty of smackers usage too… especially the dr pepper… reminds me of childhood. DQ is good too… I got three ice cream flavors from my boyfriends aunt & uncle last year.

By the way, this song influenced me to play my “Lip Gloss” MP3… lol!

I actually wrote an essay about lipbalm addiction and how far it could go. That’s why I hardly use any. Just a normal one when I get on my bike and stuff. I’m better off having chapped lips than getting addicted to it like some kids in my class. Using the stuff all through the year.

O_O how far can it go?? What can a lipbalm cause to damage your health? :O

i mostly use it in cold windy days when my lips get so dry most of the time there are visible flake marks on them .-. and of course as prevention - it’s rather embarrassing, not to mention uncomfortable & water makes the situation worse! D:

It doesn’t go life threathening far, but an addicition is still an addiction and it’s not good to have one.

It mostly is about your lips becoming addicted to it. If you don’t use it (when you’re an addict), your lips would feel burnish- kind of like that they’re going through a small rehab. Because people don’t like this feeling, they use their lipbalm again to soothe it and so on.

I’ve read many stories about people going nuts without their lipbalm, showing classic signs of addiction. And their “rehab” process sounds pretty bad too. Because their lips have to not get used to having the stuff on them anymore, they get chapped up so bad that they’re constantly bleeding.

It takes about a month or so for your lips to then finally get at ease and go back to normal.

So, it’s better to use less of it

I dont use lip balm, I usually use lip gloss or lipstick.
So, my favorite lip gloss is Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss and my favorite lipstick Estee Lauder Electric Intense Lipcreme in rouge couleur. That what it says on the bottom lol. It says lipcreme but it still looks like lipstick to me.

After looking through my makeup bag the closest thing I have to lip balm is L’Oreal Paris Pastel Repair Simmering Conditioning Lipcream in Strawberry Shake. It doesnt taste like strawberry and its not coloured when it goes on your lips, just coloured in the tube, like lip balm ^_^
