For a more affordable (& meaningful) Valentine’s Day ever

Events, How To 6:00 pm 583 Words  Respond?

Love HeartsChocolates, Flowers & Plushies with red hearts sewn on them – that’s what you expect for St Vals no? Wrong! Here are some quick ideas on how to show your loved one(s) that you really care for Valentine’s & make the day a bit easier on the pocket but much more meaningful

First of all … for the Bitter Soul - First of all Stop being a grouch and ruining your day & everyone else’s (if everyone agreed with you that st val’s is stupid, the whole world would stop celebrating it!)! Either treat this day just like another normal day or at least try and be cheerful and participate There’s no excuse for being a party pooper on this day!

For the Single Hearts – There’s no need to imerse yourself in envy if your co-worker received flowers or a nice new watch from their partner – you can have fun your own way on this day as well! Call your single friends and ask them to contact their single friends and organize a small get-together … who knows maybe you can meet someone there? Bars also organize a lot of singles nites on this day, why not go this year? Write a love letter to yourself! Write a love letter to your secret crush and let him find it! Leave your crush a trail of chocolates on his doorstep or smudge a little heart on his car window! Or better yet – just declare yourself to them! Buy a small pack of chocolate buiscuits & make your lunchbreak a bit more special with your co-workers! Draw hearts on every surface which can be drawn! Go flower picking (if you live in the country!) with your friends and create gorgeous boquets which are better than those found at your local flower store! (hey! nature’s free!).  Buy sexy lingerie or the tastiest chocolate cupcake you can find as a gift (ok, this might get a little bit pricey!) and feel gorgeous all day! Make valentine cards to your family & friends instead – everyone loves getting them! You can also just text your loved ones and tell them the thing you love most about them and why they’re so special to you … of course you don’t need st val’s to do this, but everyone loves to be reminded that they’re extra loved on this day: remember!!

For the committed types – Instead of going to a fancy restaurant this year, why not do something a bit more special? Go to the spot where you had your first date together / met! Wash you partner’s car (they’ll love you for that, especially if they’re like me … they always keep it dirty!), Cook something special for them – it doesn’t matter if you’re not the greatest chef, even the smallest thing ever can mean the world to them! Craft something out Make a photobook of yourselves using your best pictures together! Give them a back massage (which can lead to more naughty things you devil you!)! Warm up their slippers and give them your biggest, warmest smile when they come back from a long day of work! Serve up dinner in candlelight or better yet, romantically feed them their dinner! Dance for them (*coughs* in a sexy way of course, or a crazy way if they’re into that thing hihihi!), Spend a day doing the things they like to do for a change!

… So what are your plans for Valentine’s Day?
