Summer Guide 2009: Making the essential Summer Playlist

Summer Series

What music would you listen to at the beach?One thing i LOVE doing every summer is to compile a playlist which will forever remind me of that particular summer year Infact it has become pretty much a tradition! I’ve decided to compile this year’s playlist on youtube (warning – there are over 60 songs to date! ).

Interested in doing one yourself this year? Here are some tips:

  • The playlist doesn’t have to contain the actual summer anthems of this year (though most of the time, they do find themselves there before they annoy to death!)
  • Make the playlist as varied as the activities that we get to do!
  • Don’t restrict yourself to one genre of music try and divert yourself from the usual type you listen to (if you see mine it’s got at least 10 different genres! )
  • Try and picture yourself at the beach / driving in a hot summer afternoon / relaxing in the sun under a beautiful perfectly blue sky … which songs would you prefer to listen to at those moments? Those are the ones that will be PERFECT for the playlist!

So what’s that one song which reminds you of Summer? Here’s what some fellow twitterer friends think!

@Blaqheartedstar

@felinius

@Garuboy

@ honeylion

@mallorymaloney

@orangerotted

@passionpink

So what will you add to your Summer 2009 Playlist? How do you usually compile it?

      I love making season playlist! I usually have one for winter and for autumn, too, haha. My summer playlist this year has a lot of Justin Timberlake on it.. his new CD was actually pretty good.

        Hmm, never thought of this before. Usually I just listen to whatever strikes me the mood, although I think I’ll give it a try. Although I’d probably won’t last outside for long… 95F is not really ‘fun summer’ weather. More like ‘burn you alive’ weather.

          aw poo I meant to respond to your twitter but it slipped my mind! Oh well. I actually have a playlist that I made on my iPod called “Driving Fast With the Windows Down” and it currently has over 100 songs on it! Putting it on shuffle definitely mixes things up.
