How to: the perfect foolproof surprize party plan!

How To 2:00 pm 654 Words  Respond?

Surprize!Surprize parties are always well loved by everyone And they can make the perfect gift for that friend whom you never know what gift to get him / her for their bday (this maaaajorly applies to family relatives! Especially the senior ones!!!!)? But surprize parties aren’t only limited to Bdays! What are you doing to make your partner’s graduation one to really remember?? How about your parent’s wedding aniversary? What about that work colleague who’s retiring soon?

Save yourself a gift or make the occasion super special by throwing them a surprize party! Here’s a mini quick guide of doo’s and dont’s to make sure that you won’t mess up (and the planning will run as smoothly as possible)

What to do:

Try to act as cool and normal as possible – planning well ahead of time helps a lot!

Try to plan everything via cellphone / texting / email / twitter / facebook (but – remember not to post the messages public!) – try and avoid phone calls especially if you live with the person (you don’t want them acting all suspicious as to why their best friend has called you now to confirm something with you, do we?)

Make sure that the birthday boy / girl doesn’t already have any plans for the date chosen! I know i would be embarrassed to contact everyone to postpone the date!

Make a plan on the birthday boy’s entrance in the building! What time is the bday boy coming to the venue? You think everyone will already be there? Will you throw confetti? Will you sing? Will you extend the surprize until the very last minute? ( Try Blindfolds! They always do the trick )!!

Give them a false news - like you’re taking them out to dinner or to a family gathering so they won’t ask why you want them to look pretty (hmmm, it might be a bit harder to get them in a costume if the party has a theme! In that case, steal them a change of clothes and get it to the party place with you!)

Some suggestions on how to steal a person’s Contacts:

  • Grab friends off their Social media Profiles!
  • Try and steal one contact from the cellphone you can rely on to pass on the information (same goes for email)
  • Try and get a hold of their address book (if they’re that kind of person who likes to keep their contacts on paper ^^)
  • Maybe get in their family / room-mates / their partner to help you
  • Call in a co-worker and ask for their help

What NOT to do:

If you plan the party to be at a restaurant, avoid taking the person anywhere near the bday date - If you do - make sure that the restaurant owners know that it’s a surprize party!  … You don’t want the restaurant manager coming up over at your table and confirm your large party booking!!

REMEMBER TO TELL EVERYONE THAT IT’S A SECRET! Threaten them if you need to! xD

Find out what their gift list is to avoid everyone’s having to fish out for gifts all at the same time (if gifts are to be given at the party & IF you’ve invited people that isn’t that normal that they exchange gifts with … Keeps out suspicions!)

Make sure that everyone on the guest list is REALLY their friend – you may need some insider information on this one! You don’t want the celebrant ending up bummed because their enemy showed up at their special day

Try and be as discreet as possibble – remove all the evidence! – receipts, emails, sms’s etc … you never know!

& finally …. don’t forget to have fun yourself! – Don’t get lost in all of the plans and organizations and forget that you’re there to enjoy yourself as well Get some help if you fear that you may not cope alone!! Happy planning!!!
